Daniel Kittel, DVM
Dr. Kittel spent his formative years in the exciting suburbia known as Hamden, Connecticut. At some point the epiphany of becoming a veterinarian hit him. He graduated from U.C. Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. Four years of veterinary schooling at Oklahoma State University ensued. Originally Dr. Kittel worked towards becoming a mixed animal practitioner, but eventually decided that being stationed at the posterior end of bovines for hours on end was not as glamorous as he thought it would be. In 2001, Dr. Kittel moved back out to the Sacramento area and began working in private practice. In addition to saving lives, particular areas of professional interest include ultrasonography and rabbit medicine and surgery. When not at NCVS, Dr. Kittel enjoys spending quality time with his family, traveling by train, reading, and eating Fat Mike’s pizza.

Anna Ziedins, DVM, MPH
Dr. Ziedins did her undergraduate work at UC Davis where she earned a B.S. degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation Biology. She first attended UC Berkeley's well-respected School of Public Health to earn her M.P.H degree in Infectious Diseases, and 4 years later, was awarded a D.V.M degree from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.  After graduation, Dr. Ziedins completed a rigorous one-year internship were she acquired much of her emergency medicine and surgery skills.  She currently shares a home with 3 cats (all rescue kitties) and 2 dogs (a Yorkie and a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon).  When not working at NCVS,  Dr. Ziedins enjoys spending time outdoors. Favorite pastimes include gardening, backpacking, outdoor photography, running, swimming and eating sushi at Mikuni' s restaurant.
